This variety of ridge tile still features the characteristic angled shape, but instead uses slate as its material of choice. As such, these particular tiles provide homeowners with a striking, bold effect for their roofs.

Slate naturally ages over time, and this weathering process creates varying colour gradients across the tile. Whereas, when you buy a brand new slate ridge tile, you will see that it is jet black in colour. Although this may sound attractive, it can create quite a jarring contrast against your existing tiles if they were used to complete a repair or for an extension. This is why reclaimed slate ridge tiles present such an intuitive option for owners of older or even listed properties.
